| Mukund Narayanamurti |
| Mukund is a Senior Manager in KPMG Australia’s dedicated Asia Markets Group and specializes in market entry advisory services focused on corporate investment activity between Australia and Asia with a particular emphasis on China and India. Mukund has advised on various significant cross border mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and corporate reorganizations in the infrastructure, energy and natural resources, consumer foods and financial services sectors. Mukund graduated from Deakin University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree, with various academic awards, including the prestigious John Scouller award in recognition of graduating as the top honours student in accounting and finance. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has also completed a Master’s degree in International Tax at the Law School of the University of Melbourne. In 2008, Mukund was the youngest attendee at an Executive Education Program in tax policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Mukund is especially passionate about the tertiary education sector and has been involved in various initiatives with his alma mater Deakin University since graduation including, speaking at various career counseling seminars and workshops. In 2007, Mukund helped found the Deakin Commerce Alumni Chapter with Michael D’Rosario, and served as the Chapter’s first President. The Chapter is Deakin University’s largest and most active alumni chapter and has hosted many successful networking, professional development and university profile enhancement events, all dedicated to supporting Deakin University’s mission of becoming Australia’s most progressive university. At Nexus Foundation, Mukund is committed to bridging the funding needs of Asia’s poorest children with the philanthropic outlays of Australia’s most generous donors. Mukund is especially passionate about meeting the education needs of Asia’s most disadvantaged children that meet the unique multi-purpose criteria of Nexus Foundation’s Hope Scholars program, including depicting a need for funding, and showing an academic bent of mind and a genuine ambition to be leaders in their communities. Mukund believes that the Hope Scholars program through its unique mission statement and delivery model can help transform the socio, political and economic fortunes of some of Asia’s most impoverished communities. Mukund is committed to working with Michael and the team in building a pool of social capital through which Nexus Foundation can achieve its core objectives of education, advocacy, empowerment and unity. |
Michael D'RosarioMichael is a Lecturer in Finance & Ethics at Deakin University. Michael has also undertaken a Masters in Arts (International Justice) at the University of Melbourne, Michael's research focuses on morality, patriotism, and sovereignty. Michael's other research focuses on diaspora communities, game theory and development economics. In particular it is orientated around the individuals' moral assessment framework.
