| Carlene is truly passionate about community development, with a recent trip to the Mekong region of Vietnam serving to catalyse this passion. Having spent time at Hoi Thien Thieu, one of Nexus' partner entities Carlene has a genuine understanding of the problem. Carlene spent time working and playing with the adolescents at the centre. She organised several trips and excursions for the children of the centre. She is passionate about raising awareness of the needs of the peoples of the developing world. Carlene is looking forward to returning to Vietnam and broader Indochina to support the efforts of partner entities. As such Carlene is particularly passionate about the children's programs and sees Nexus as a vehicle though which we will be able to help children rise above subsistence living. She hopes that Nexus will be able to grow young leaders that will be able to aid the development process and break the cycle of poverty in their communities. Carlene was pleased to observe several young leaders recently procure vocational scholarships. Carlene loves East Asian and South Asian culture, and is excited about her first trip to India. She loves cooking Vietnamese and Indian foods, particularly pho and butter chicken. Carlene is a qualified workplace trainer and assessor. Carlene is an award winning hair stylist, working for an inner eastern salon in Melbourne. In addition Carlene is a hairdressing facilitator at a leading CBD based hair and beauty college. Prabath WickramanayakePrabath Wickramanayake was born in Colombo Sri Lanka in December 1982.
