About Nexus
Nexus is an innovative charitable consultancy that seeks to support the efforts of individuals and organisations engaging in sustainable social change activities. Through our network we hope empower all Australians that have a desire to contribute to community development both in Australia and overseas. We aim to assist everyday Australians that have identified needs in communities both here and abroad in addressing them.
Nexus was formed by a group of academics and consultants. While many of the founding members are Christian it is an inclusive vehicle and actively encourages the participation of all peoples regardless of colour, creed, religion or ethnicity. Nexus is supported and managed by a multi-disciplinary team of people from all walks of life who all share a passion for community development and the plight of those less fortunate.
Nexus Foundation Australia was formed by an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development, Michael D'Rosario and a group of colleagues while the Michael was based in Can Tho University in Southern Vietnam. Mr. D'Rosario's activities saw him working closely with the local community and community organisations, as well as the local population. Mr. D'Rosario assisted academics at Can Tho University, acting as a Research officer, and conducting classes for staff. His work with local academics afforded him a great deal of knowledge into the poverty situation in Vietnam. During his time as a Youth Ambassador in Vietnam Mr. D'Rosario identified several development projects that he felt would contribute greatly to developing communities. Nexus is also active in South Asia, supporting several partner organisation that seek to educate impoverished children from some of the largest slums and hutments in the world.
With the assistance of colleagues and well wishers back home ‘Nexus Foundation Australia' was formed. Nexus hopes to promote unity and improve living standards in the developing world. We exist to create communities not delimited by geographic borders but those that are governed by care, compassion and consideration for all peoples regardless of their colour, creed, and political or religious persuasion.
